"Michael Jackson Line"
Hardly any other dancer has impressed and touched Felix as much as Michael Jackson, who expressed his emotions in a unique way in his dance. It is particularly inspiring to Felix seeing a person dancing without music, as one can see in Michael Jackson’s so-called "Panther Dance" at the end of his "Black or White" music video.
This reminds Felix of how he often simply started to dance because a certain melody, a certain rhythm in his head had overtaken him or because wondrous energies had flooded him-- as it can happen when a powerful wind blows over the land. Or, as he could not keep himself under control when there was this need to express praise through dance to creation next to a waterfall on a rock in the mountains because a fairy-tale rain fell down.
Michael Jackson's unique syntheses of the elegant and energetic movements of classics like Fred Astaire, Bob Fosse, Eleanor Powell, John W. Bubbles, John Travolta, James Brown, street dance pioneers like The Electric Boogaloo and Jeffrey Daniel have fascinated Felix tremendously.
Vincent Paterson’s legendary choreographies and iconic movements inspired Felix for the first time to the choreographic part of dance.
Felix does not think himself as an imitator of Michael Jackson, but as a dancing interpreter, who always tries to penetrate the adopted forms and techniques with his own personality.
Furthermore, the movements of Michael Jackson and his role models animated Felix to many own movement creations.
